My Baby Girl

After 3 months of being on bedrest with placenta previa I had a c-section on June 15. Yes, three months ago today I had a baby girl. Her name is Caidyn Frieda Mae Wild, she weighed 5 pounds 5 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. Here are a small handful of pictures from her first 3 months.

On March 7, Kevin and Belinda were married at the Calvary Presbyterian Church in Riverside. That following Monday I was put on bed rest and haven't spent a lot of time on the computer other than to edit and get them their pictures. I am still on bed rest but wanted to get their day blogged before my little one arrives. A big thank you goes out to Brady Puryear for being my second shooter that day and Thank you to Jamie Altheide for being my assistant and keeping me on track with our tight schedule.

Missing Frieda

My mother-in-law has been gone for 8 months today. It would have been her 54th birthday.

I have been missing her so much lately. When my four year old, Bricyn, asks me to stir chocolate milk like Grammi or to paint like Grammi used to, I only miss her more. But then I stop and am thankful for the memories and times we did have to be together and to be loved by an amazing women. I pray her memory will never fade and that Bricyn will forever remember his Grammi. I hope he never stops talking about her.

Frieda you were an awesome mom, Grammi and friend. Thank you for everything you taught me. I miss you so very much.

Gallery Wraps

In the last few months I have ordered a couple different canvases from different companies. Now I am sold on Canvas On Demand. They did a great job, simple to order, great communication, timely turn around and did a great job shipping the product. Here are just a couple shots of the finished product.

The canvas is 22" x 28".

The sides of this canvas are a continuation of the picture. (hence the name wrap) You can also get prints with soild sides. This print is 1.5" thick.

The corners are done really well and the finished product is ready to hang. I had the dustcover and hanging hardware added to the back of the canvas.Let me know if you are interested in a gallery wrap from one of your sessions.

Mommy and Me: Kristen and Ethan

I did Kristen's maternity photos, shot the family and Ethan when he was a newborn, now we finally found the time to do the mommy and me shots Kristen has been wanting since he was 6 months old. Really Kristen was looking for just one shot. She has done "mommy and me"sessions with her four other kids and is creating a wall dedicated to that special time in each of her kids lives. She still hasnt picked her favorite but here are a few of mine.

Trash the dress with Daniel and Erin

I was super excited about this session for several reasons. One, I was able to work with Brittney again. Two, I got to see Erin and Daniel again (I was the second shooter for their wedding) and this was my first Trash the Dress session. Now Erin didnt really want to destroy her dress but she was up for just about anything we asked her to do. Here are some of my favorites.

Tom and Katryn: Wedding

I have been putting off this post for way too long. If you know me personally, you know what my family has been through this past year. If you don't know me, here is a glimpse of the amazing family I am a part of.

My mother-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer in August 2007. You can read her full journey at this CaringBridge link. On June 11, 9 months after her initial diagnosis, she came home from spending a week at the hospital being treated for pneumonia and was put on Hospice. We knew we did not have much time left but the question was never asked, "How much time do we have?" On Friday June 13 my sister-in-laws boyfriend proposed at the breakfast table surrounded by family. She said yes and the date was set for Sunday the 15th. The race was on. With help from family and friends we organized a beautiful wedding in less than 72 hours. I documented the day with my camera and am ready to share them with you.

The dress was Katryn's moms dress. It fit her perfectly. The only adjustment made was making the sleeves shorter.

This was such a blessed day for our family. It was extremely important to Katryn to have her mom be a part of her wedding day. A little over a week later, Frieda passed away. We miss her so much but she will live on forever in our hearts and memories.

Kristen and Domo: Maternity

From the initial email I received from Kristen, her excitement was contagious. I enjoy doing maternity sessions but what makes them even better is when your client is extremely excited to do them. While Kristen and I were in the process of setting a date for her sessions I received an email from a friend of Kristen's letting me in on a little secret. She had been planning a surprise baby shower for Kristen on the 13 and ask that I not schedule her in the afternoon. Of course the only date her and I could meet was the 13th, so we did a morning session at their home. We had a lot of fun during the session but the fun wasn't over for Kristen. Not only did she have a surprise baby shower that afternoon but her boyfriend Domo proposed! Of course she said "Yes"! What a day to remember for this very happy couple.

Domo and Kristen are expecting a little boy around October 27.

Baby Braxon doesn't know it yet but he is going to be a football player. :)

Kristen has a couple tattoos that she wanted to get in a shot or two.

This one, on her wrist, is a family tattoo.

Kristen loves butterflies and wanted something fun with her back tattoo. I couldn't pick which one I liked better so you get two. :)

You have all seen Reagan before because we have done a 3 month session and a 6 month session. Well, time does fly by us and now she is 9 months old. I had a lot of fun following her around as she played with all her toys.

Our Star is Home

Back on Tuesday July 29 our dog went missing after the earthquake. Her name is Star and our family was devastated. We put up over 100 signs in the surrounding area and had neighbors, friends and family looking for her. We checked the pound often but we lost hope in the search. Yesterday my neighbor called at about 9:30 am saying he had found our dog on the Riverside Shelters website. We had many false alarms in the last 6 weeks so I was skeptical that it was really her. I checked the site and sure enough, there she was. Tears were streaming down my face as I looked at my husband, he was feeling the same emotion. We rushed to the pound and verified she had been found. We are nothing short of amazed. God is good and has blessed us deeply with this miracle. Of course I had to take pictures so we could remember this day.

Here is Star before getting her first bath. She has lost over 20 pounds in the last 6 weeks. She always hated getting wet and soapy.

She also doesn't like the camera. She runs and hides as soon as she sees me with it.
Here she is all clean. Safe and sound in my boys room.

After her bath we took her to be professionally cleaned and to get a flea dip. Poor thing is covered in fleas. We then took her to the vet. She is on an antibiotic and something to help her stomach while adjusting to eating again. We are so thankful to have her back. A big thank you to all our friends and family for praying and helping us look for her. A huge HUG goes out to our neighbor for finding her on the shelters site.

Reagan: 6 months

Reagan is so precious. You might remember her from her 3 month pictures back in February. Well when I took these pictures in May she was 6 months old. She is sitting up on her own and enjoys exploring the world around her. She was in a very serious mood for most of the session but her mom did a great job of entertaining her. Oh yes, and she has discovered her tongue.

Relay for Life Walk - Yucaipa

Steve and Friends in Yucaipa had a booth at the Relay for Life on Saturday April 26. The Walk took place at the Yucaipa Community Park. The booth was done this year in honor of my mother-in-law who is fighting cancer.

Our second day in Mammoth was so much fun. We spent a lot of time outside sledding, building the perfect sled jump and having snowball fights. We also spent a little bit of time shopping and while we were out Kelwyn found a snowblock maker and a snowball maker. So when we got back Kelwyn built a fort and we had another snowball fight with our snowball maker.

Easter Sunday

Miss Alexa with her Easter Egg Bricyn was sooo sleepy. We woke the boys up early so they could find their Easter baskets and have a Easter egg hunt before Daddy had to go to work.

WPPI - What an experience!!

Okay, I know I am way behind on my blog and I promise to catch up this month.

On Sunday March 16, Jen, Melissa, Tim and I headed to Vegas for the biggest Portrait and Wedding photography convention- WPPI. A big "THANK YOU" to Jen for the invite and being my roomie. And another big "THANK YOU" to Mel for planning some great networking opportunities. Amazingly enough, I didnt take many pictures. We were busy from the time we arrived to the time Jen and I left on Monday night just after 10 pm.

At East Hills Communtiy Church they have a ladies luncheon every Spring. My mom hosted a table this year and she did an awesome job of decorating the table with love. I wanted to show off just a couple pictures of the table.

Every table had a little house decorated personally by the host.

One of the gifts for everyone at the table was a calendar.
Another gift was a hand made bookmark and notebook.
Me, my Aunt Renay, my mom Sharol, my cousin Jamie, my good friend Carrie and a friend of mine from Sandals Church, Robin.
I must also mention that the food was amazing and the guest speaker, whose name I can not remember, did a great job of reminding us to take inventory of our hearts and to be more like Christ.

Jacksons 3 month pictures

Wow time flies!! In December I took Jacksons newborn pictures and now he is already 3 months old. He has gotten so big in the last few months and is such a little cutie. After getting over how big he has gotten, I was amazed by his blue eyes. This little boy loves his mama and we had fun getting him to smile for us. Here are a few of my favorites.

Carrie has two adorable girls and is excited her third baby is a boy. Carrie is due in early April so you should see some pictures of her little man pretty soon.

Sandals Family Dedication

The last Sandals Family Dedication took place on February 24. The purpose of dedicating your child is an opportunity as a parent to commit yourself to the task of raising your children in a Christian home. The dedication service provides parents with the opportunity of publicly making this commitment before God, family and friends. After the service the families involved are invited to have brunch given by the church. I was asked to photograph this event since my MAP group was sponsoring the dedication brunch.

The moms group from Sandals has a fieldtrip and playdate each month. In February we went up to a cabin in Green Valley Lake and spent the day sledding and playing in the snow. Here are a few of my favorite pics of the day.

Sandals Baptism

I attend a church in Riverside called Sandals. It is an awesome church. Sandals is about being real with yourself, others and God. One way of showing your commitment to Christ is through Baptism. On February 17 I was invited to take shoot the Baptism. Here are some of my favorite shots of the afternoon.

That morning was also the end of the "Get in the game" series. It was a great series about getting involved and off the sidelines of life. Getting involved the way Christ was involved with people. This last Sunday of the series was a time for all the small groups at Sandals to show off our spirit. Here are a couple pictures from the morning and some of the moms in my MAP - Moms with A Purpose - relational group.

Valentines Day

On Valentines Day I had such a great day. In the morning I went to a moms relational group and spent the morning with some girl friends. Then my husband, 3 year old Bricyn and I picked up Austyn and a classmate for a skating rink field trip. It had been at least 12 years since I had been to a skating rink. Putting on the rented skates and standing up was an eye opening experience. It was a lot more difficult than I remembered. It all came back eventually and I was even able to skate backwards. Here are a couple pictures of Kelwyn and I helping the boys skate.

When we got home the boys and I made a Valentines Day Gingerbread house. (we didnt make time to put it together during Christmas break)

These are some of the flowers my hubby got me. I dont get flowers to often (usually not even on Valentines Day) so I just had to share them. He also put flowers by my side of our bed, in the our bathroom and on our fireplace so I could enjoy them no matter what room I was in. Thanks Babe!Hope you all spent the day being loved by and loving the important people in your life.

Reagan: 3 months

January 31st Brittney, Jen and I got together to hang out and get some fun shots of each other and our kids. It's great to know other photographers who also have two little boys at home. Garth Brooks Concert

Kelwyn and I were able to get ahold of 2 tickets to one of Garths 5 shows in LA. (January 26)We were super excited to see him perform and it was so nice to go on a date with my hubby. There are no professional cameras allowed in the Staples Center for concerts so I borrowed my sons point and shoot camera. Our seats were just about as far from the stage as possible but I believe, for this show, there wasnt a bad seat in the house. Im sure you have heard by now that Trisha Yearwood had a guest appearance and they sang "In another eyes". It was great. Here are some fun shoots from our seats.

There was so much energy. It was amazing!

In his last of two encores Garth brought out a Staples Center concession stand worker. She had greeted him back stage to ask him what it felt like to be on stage. What did Garth Brooks do?? He invited her out to see for herself. We gave her and Garth a warm welcome then Garth asked her, "so what do you think" and she said "They are going to fire me" Poor thing. Well of course Garth wouldnt let that happen. He sang a couple more songs. Gave the lady his hat and that concluded the concert. As we were leaving Staples Center it started to pour down. Lucky for us, I had a feeling it was going to rain and Kelwyn was great enough to carry our umbrella the whole time. We were one of the only dry Garth Brooks fans in LA. On the way home we used my best friend, Magellan, to find an Olive Garden. Thanks babe for a great night out!

Eddie and Cheryls wedding

Daniel Balboa asked me to photograph Eddie and Cheryls wedding on January 19th, as his second assistant. What did I say? "I have plans that night but let me see what I can do." After talking it over with my very supportive family, we decided I could do the first half of the shoot and leave after the ceremony. Daniel was good with that so here are some pictures of Cheryl getting ready and a couple other shots of Eddie and Cheryl.

On December 29 I assisted Brittney Pecore for the first time. I had fun getting to know her and watching her work with her long time friends, Daniel and Erin, at their wedding.
Daniel and Erin are such an amazing couple. I had a great time watching these two interact. They are so in love and have a ton of fun with each other. They chose to see each other before the ceremony and get a lot of their photos out of the way. Here are pictures of them seeing each other for the first time that day.
